NOTE: To determine the destination of the Charge Detail Record (CDR) an OCPP Authorize request is required for each session. Therefore it is best to disable the authorization cache function in the charger. Please reach out to us if you experience any issues on this matter.


The following checks can help determine whether or not the charger can successfully connect to the Longship platform.

  • Does the charger have configuration software?
  • Does the current manufacturer/supplier need to facilitate support?
    • Note: EV-Box / NewMotion / LMS / Joulz lock-in, cooperation is need to facilitate moving a charger to a different platform.
  • Is the internet connection through ethernet/wifi or a SIM card? In case a SIM card is unique for the network of the charger, the SIM card has to be replaced with an own SIM card.
  • Is the OCPP1.6 JSON protocol supported by the charger? Chargers with different protocols are not supported by the Longship backoffice.
  • Procedures of connecting a charger on site:
    • Edit the configuration settings with a laptop that is directly connected to the charger through a cable
    • Replace SIM card
