For checking and setting up roaming connections, you can visit the Roaming Connections page. Connections with roaming hubs are typically established via EVesto using "Shared Connections," located at the top of the screen. However, if you want to set up a peer-to-peer (p2p) connection, you can do that here. Using the OCPI protocol, it is possible to establish a connection for data traffic. Usually, the connection is made between the CPO and an MSP, but it is also possible to establish connections with other parties, such as data providers or payment solutions.

Establishing a Connection

Click on the "Add" button and select "As Sender" or "As Receiver."

As Sender

As a sender, you only need to enter a name in the "Add" screen. The entered name will then appear in the "Roaming Connections" screen. By clicking on the newly created connection, the following screen will appear. Share the URL and the "Initial Secret" (a randomly generated one-time key) with your roaming partner, so they can establish a connection with you via the OCPI protocol. Once a connection is made, a periodic synchronization (every hour) is started where the first synchronization retrieves the entire set of UID's and subsequently only the new UID's. By clicking the "Synchronize" button, you can manually retrieve UID's.

As Receiver

You can also receive a URL and "Initial Secret" from a roaming partner. In this case, go to "Add" and choose "As Receiver." Enter the details here.

Activating the Connection

To ultimately establish the connection, go back to the overview of roaming connections and click on "Connect".
