Introduction

The ACE Service Installer tool can be used to configure an Alfen charger. You can download this tool on the Alfen download page.

Note: The screenshots may differ from the way your application looks like. This has to do with differences in the software, firmware and model versions. The property names can also differ.

Step 1

To begin, configure the charger ID in the charger settings. The charger ID should be a text of up to 27 characters and can only contain alphanumeric characters (a-Z0-9) or these symbols: _-.*. Remove any other characters from the charger ID.

Path to the configuration settings: General -> General

Step 2

Now let's configure the backoffice connection endpoint.

Go to Connectivity --> GPRS (The name can differ. Most chargers have either Mobile or GPRS)

Path to the connectivity configuration setting when a charger is connected with a cable: Connectivity -> Wired

Path to the connectivity configuration setting when a charger is connected with a sim card: Connectivity -> GPRS / Mobile

Note: Not all chargers can connect with a secure websocket connection (wss://). In case the charger cannot connect with wss the ws:// endpoint can be used as an alternative. The implication of connecting with the ws:// endpoint is that the OCPP messages to and from the Longship backoffice will not be encrypted.
