When a charging station does not start a charging session after presenting a charging card, there can be several reasons. Our platform's initial step is the "authorize" action, which verifies if the UID (charging card code) has permission to charge at that station.

How to Check Charging Session Approval:

  1. Navigate to the "Chargers" section.
  2. Choose the desired charger.
  3. Review the "Message Log" for messages from the charging station.
    • "Accepted" indicates the session can begin.
    • "Invalid" means the session can't start.

Reasons for an "Invalid" Notification:

  1. Unrecognized Charging Card: The card might not be in our system, hindering the session. Under "Authorization" > "Roaming", search for the UID.  If it's listed but ineffective, the UID might be invalid. Ensure the "valid" box is ticked, if not, contact your MSP.
  2. Non-roaming Charger: Some chargers aren't public and deny guest users, blocking third-party cards/apps. In "Locations", you can set roaming options like "public (roaming)" or "guest charging". More on Locations.
  3. Local Token Group Issue: If using a card from a local token group, ensure the UID is in your local charging group list. Whitelist a UID in the "Tokens" section, pick the local group, and click "Add Token".
  4. Blocked MSP: The card might belong to a blocked Mobility Service Provider (MSP). In "Mobility Providers", use the three dots menu to block or unblock an MSP.
  5. Reimbursement Issues: If using Reimbursement, ensure cards are set up to charge at specific stations. Check this in the "Locations" section or with Deftpower.
  6. Remote Activation Issues: If remotely activating a station (via an app) fails, it might be due to roaming settings. In "Locations", ensure "roaming" is active for the station's location.
  7. Live Validation by MSPs: Some MSPs validate UIDs live. If their authorization exceeds 15 seconds (default), a timeout happens. Try the card again after a brief wait.
